ESG Review & Gap Analysis

What is an ESG Review & Gap Analysis?

ESG is a unique framework that helps organisations to manage environmental, social and governance issues. If you want to understand your performance and benchmark it  against your industry peers then an ESG Review and Gap Analysis will do just that. It is a detailed review process that involves stakeholder consultations, policy, procedure and systems analysis and competitor analysis.

Think of it as an ESG health check, tailored to your organisation, location and industry. It’s a simple process that requires a small amount of your time. We can work with existing ESG, CSR or sustainability teams or conduct your review independently. At the end of the process you’ll receive an ESG Review Document charting your current performance and a Good Management ESG Roadmap that shows where and when improvements can be made to your ESG performance.

Importance of Having an ESG Policy

Companies are faced with increasing scrutiny from shareholders, suppliers and customers when it comes to their ESG performance. If you haven’t already, it’s only a matter of time before you have to fill out a supplier ESG form or provide your ESG policy in a pitch or tender.

Placing a greater focus on ESG through a credible ESG policy can allow you to maximise the positive impact of your business, as well as demonstrate to all interested parties that you are taking your responsibilities seriously. An ESG Policy ensures that you are on the right side of history, you are doing the right thing but it also has significant benefits.

What is involved in an ESG Review and Gap Analysis?

An ESG Review can be undertaken on its own or as part of a wider look at the strategy, implementation and management of your ESG strategy. Our 4 Steps to Sustainability package covers this in full.

An ESG Review covers the following work streams:

  • Current ESG, CSR & Sustainability initiatives
  • ESG Performance to date
  • PR, Marketing and Comms analysis
  • Competitor analysis based on 3 industry competitors
  • Stakeholder consultations – employees, suppliers, clients, investors, senior management, customers.
  • Industry Benchmarking
  • ESG risk and opportunities assessment
  • Recommendations report
  • ESG Roadmap to chart improvements
