4 Steps to a Sustainable Business
1. Review
The first step in the corporate sustainability process is to thoroughly assess your social and environmental impact performance. Think of this as a sustainability MOT where we’ll work with you to understand all impact areas. We survey and interview key stakeholders, analyse competitors and benchmark your industry performance. Your Good Management Consultant will get to know your business and ambitions. We then provide you with a full ESG & Sustainability review report, a materiality report which identifies key themes to focus your efforts, together with a sustainability roadmap which gives you recommendations and actions.
2. Strategy
Devising a clear sustainability strategy is a vital part of the process — it allows you to set ambitious goals then commit your business towards achieving them. These targets and the strategy to achieve them should be clear, concise and communicable and you need to involve all the relevant stakeholders.
Getting buy-in from investors, staff, clients, suppliers and management is an important element of our sustainability strategies. Once we’ve worked with you to define your strategy we then compile your strategy document.
3. Implementation
Implementing a corporate sustainability strategy requires commitment to the process, as well as flexibility to adjust the approach . A journey to Net Zero or sustainability is rarely straightforward and your stakeholders will appreciate honesty and openness. No one has time for Greenwashing. We help you implement your strategy through systems and process management, policy-writing and training. We also help you implement your strategy with your suppliers and customers, communicating effectively to ensure maximum positive impact.
4. Management
An effective sustainability strategy is one that is never truly complete. Once your sustainability strategy has been implemented then we’ll help you to ensure that it can be managed throughout the year and beyond. This culminates in managing and analysing your impact data and writing your ESG, CSR & Sustainability Report to charts your progress against targets. We are also on hand throughout the year to advise on performance improvements, depending on how much help you need. Consistency is key and we help you every step of the way.
